Spas abound in all sizes and shapes and they all have one thing in common which is that is all are dedicated to providing personal health. To a certain degree, each addresses emotional, physical and spiritual needs.

You can walk out of a spa physically and emotionally sound and free from stress. Stress is the number one factor that affects not only your emotions and health, but your appearance as well. A day in a spa helps to release stress and allows for the release of all negative energy, both of which are necessary to attain a more tranquil body.

The best spa environment must offer the following:

? Clean surroundings

? Professional, courteous and friendly staff

? Credentials that are available when requested

Basic spa treatments include:

1. Therapeutic massage is the use of the hands on the on the muscles of the body to provide a soothing and relaxing feeling as well as several other health benefits.

2. A facial is a service offered in a spa that involves deep cleansing, skin analysis, massage, toning, moisturizing and "extraction" – which is the removal of impurities, particularly blackheads.

3. Body treatments involve cleansing by exfoliating with a body scrub or salt glow to cleanse the skin and remove the dead skin layers, resulting in a very soft and refreshed feeling.

Body scrubs are usually supplemented with either a hydrating or detoxifying body wrap. Algae, seaweed or mud products are used to detoxify as they increase blood circulation and stimulate the lymphatic system. This improves your body's ability to release waste products. During the treatment, an oil or rich cream is applied to hydrate the skin to make it softer and glowing.

4. Spa manicures and pedicures and foot scrubs are available in some spas that have salons for hair styling and cutting services as well.

Before going to a spa, call and ask about the following:

? Ask about the services they offer. There are those that offer the basics such as facials, massages, foot scrubs, ?manicures and pedicures?, and others that offer specialized bodywork, body wraps and much more.

? Ask about prices.

? Ask about the staff: are they certified or not? Can you see their credentials?

Your spa etiquette:

? Turn off the cell phone.

? Massage is generally done nude, however parts of the body that are not being massaged will be covered.

? Share the space with other spa customers respectfully.

? If there?s anything that displeases you, talk to the manager.

? Remember to tip 15-20 percent.

Relax and savor each spa moment and arrive 20 minutes before so that you have enough time to change and enjoy the sauna.

Treat yourself to a spa today! You deserve it!

“Why is there blood in my mouth when I wake up?” If you have ever had to ask yourself this question, then it is important that you make an appointment to see your dentist right away. Do not pass Go, do not collect two hundred dollars, and do not procrastinate, try to make excuses for it, or wait for it to go away. You could have periodontal disease, also known as gum disease, and that is not something you should ever take lightly. The problem may be more complicated than even a good mouthwash like therabreath could solve.

Gum disease affects a baffling number of men, women, and children in the States alone. It is estimated that upwards of fifty percent of the population, if not more, has some form of gingival disease. The most common periodontal diseases range from mild to severe, but they are all something about which you should worry. They need to be taken seriously. That is why there are so many products like
oramd.

Waking up with blood in your mouth is an almost positive sign that you have gingivitis at the very least. This blood is most likely being produced from your gums. Bleeding gums are the first and most telltale sign of gingivitis. If your gums are sore, tender, or red in color, then you almost certainly have some form of gingival disease.

If left untreated, gingivitis is serious. It can lead to gum disease, for one thing. Periodontitis itself can eventually lead to your teeth becoming loose – and falling out. In general, untreated gum disease can lead to even more several health problems, such as heart disease. Considering the fact that brushing your teeth twice a day and flossing can keep your teeth healthy, it is not worth the chance to get gum disease.

Remember, even though you may have an ozone generator to make oxygenated mouthwash, you still need to see a periodontist for diagnosis.

It cannot be said enough. If you wake up to blood in your mouth, you need to go see your dentist. If you do have gum disease, you want to take care of it as soon as possible.

Medical Professionals and mothers all over the country have been telling us for centuries that “we are what we eat”. What they mean by this of course is that whatever we put into our mouths has a direct influence on our health, fitness, beauty and even mood. Because of this, we are forever being ordered to eat certain things, drink certain things and avoid lots of things. It is not always easy to know which advice to follow though and which is the most import, so lets examine some of the most important foods to control.

Salt. This is something that we didn’t even know was bad for us until scientist decide to tell us recently. An agency called the FSA in the UK suggest that 6g of salt is the maximum that anyone should need in a day. Those people who are very sporty or drink lots of water may need higher levels of salt in their diets as they lose it through sweating. The majority of people need much less than they are currently eating however as it is attributed to heart failure, stoke and elevated blood pressure. Rather than put it in your body, salt is good at conditioning skin and is in fact an ingredient in lots of skin care products

Fats. There are types of fat that are vital to the functioning of our body, including maintain organs, skin and vision. If the fats that we needed were the saturated type (trans fats) then there would not be so much of a problem as lots of people eat vast amounts of these, but unfortunately its not, it’s is the unsaturated fats that we need. Organ failure, diabetes and joint issues are among the many conditions that result from elevated saturated fat intake, not to mentioned the risk of obesity. It won’t matter how many times you have a manicure, your appearance and health will not be great if you don’t watch your fats

Water. Whilst you might not strictly eat water, it is vitally important to your health. Most government agencies suggest that people should consume around two litres of water per day but in reality it will depend on lots of factors like your activity levels, size and metabolism etc. Water is used in every element of the bodies functioning but also has a large impact in appearance, so if you drink enough of the stuff you won’t need to have exfoliating scrub treatments quite so often
